Sometimes, if not most of the time, you think of one thing only to find yourself saying another because you worry too much about what other people might think. Due to social pressures or personal anxieties, we often find ourselves doing something else instead of the idea that we have in mind.
You may ask yourself if you do what you want to do or you just follow the herd. In terms of your career are you having the job of your dreams, or is it the job of someone else’s dreams? Try to ask yourself, is this the path that you want to be heading to or are you influenced by outside forces. It is your duty to find it out.
These days, several things are being mass produced. It might be hard to be yourself when a lot of people want you to be mass produced too. But learning to love yourself and being yourself is truly rewarding and one of the best ways to achieve true happiness. However, try to consider some quotes about ‘being yourself’ from famous writers, celebrities, philosophers, and businesspersons throughout history. They too have struggled to find their identity.
Such quotes about being yourself indicates that finding one’s own identity and living that life that is most real in your heart is already an age-old fight. As there are a lot of individuals who have risen to the challenge, this means that you can do it too.
Usually, it is what we think that they are going to think rather than what they think that’s going to affect us. The best thing we can do is to disregard about what we think others may think and just do the things that we want and love to do. Don’t let other people stop you from doing the things that you love. The worst-case scenario is they’re not thinking about you at all. It is also inevitable that someone’s has always something to say.
Either you do it or you don’t. The choice is yours. Just know what you have to know. We are living in a world of ‘We-Just-Don’t-Know’. Disregard what others will think. You have already reasons for making choices, whether it is a conscious one or not.
I am writing this from my bed on a lazy and un-busy morning. My point here is to liberate yourself. Me and you, let us all do this.
Now is the time. Remember the words of Eleanor Roosevelt, “you wouldn’t worry so much about what others thought of you when you realize how seldom they actually do.” So, that’s it.
So, just do your thing as I mine. Be you and I’ll be here being me.
With his typical wit, Oscar Wilde said that, “be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” This might sound humorous but it’s an important summation of the truth. Remember that you cannot be yourself if you do not know, understand, and accept yourself first. Therefore, make it as your primary goal to find it out beforehand.
